COMMUNITY SERVICE

"Food For Thought"

Alliance members -- this NEW community service project needs our help!  Grab a couple friends & provide much needed hands-on assistance for the homeless & hungry in our community.  They have multiple opportunities to get involved.  Review this info & consider how you might be able to help out!  Visit their website at feedtoledo.org for more info!

Opportunity #1:  Food For Thought packs PBJs every single Friday from 6:00p-7:00p at Trinity Episcopal Church, 316 Adams Street, 2nd Floor.

Opportunity #2:  PB&J Donations --- click here for items to contribute!

Opportunity #3:  On Saturday morning, volunteers leave from Trinity Church & travel two separate routes delivering PB&Js:  the first leaves at 9:45a, the second leaves at 11:00a. The group NEVER misses a Friday or Saturday -- no changes seasonally or around holidays!

Opportunity #4:  Mobile Food Pantry -- schedule at very bottom of this page!

Opportunity #5:  Food For Thought "wish list" --- it is extensive, so print a copy & if you can help on a personal level or a professional level --- your support is very much needed & will help so many in our community.

NOTE:  Call me if you have any questions.  No need to 'sign-up' with me --- just grab your friends & go to Trinity Episcopal Church on Adams Street --- the group can always use the extra volunteers!  Take a photo & send to my cell for the newsletter!

"Thanksgiving Event" with Bethany House

Bethany House is a long-term shelter for victims and their children who are escaping domestic violence in Northwest Ohio.

Most shelters offer short-term stays in dorm housing, but Bethany House is the only Toledo-area domestic violence shelter that offers long-term, apartment-style transitional living. Many survivors are with us for more than a year.

We also provide emotional and financial support, and give survivors the time and resources they need to rebuild their lives. And it’s all FREE of charge.

Since 1984, Bethany House has served more than 1,200 individuals and provided more than 200,000 nights of safe shelter for victims and their children escaping domestic abuse in our area. Annually, we serve an average of 30 families.

You can support this cause by making a donation through pay pal or sending a check made out to LCMA with Bethany House in the memo line. Mail the check to :

"Ronald McDonald House Meals" Volunteer Opportunity

Christina Hammerling has created a sign up website to make it easier for members to sign up and keep track of dates they select to participate in Ronald McDonald House Meals.  She will send out an email reminder about a week or two before your date to confirm along with some additional information.

If you have any questions or need to make a change with an already existing cook date then please email her at cgrinter128@gmail.com.

Thank you in advance for your participation in this wonderful project!
