The Healthy Choices, Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds Project Placemats were developed to encourage Lucas County residents to make wiser food choices and to increase daily activity levels.  By translating the 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans into an easy-to-read and graphically pleasing representation, we hope to raise children’s nutritional awareness and aid parents/caregivers of young children; we believe this to be a crucial time in which good food choices develop into healthy long-term eating behaviors.  The placemats, along with related follow-up activities, will support the development of healthy behaviors which lowers the risk of chronic diseases and promote overall good health in our community.
