Dear Academy of Medicine Alliance of Toledo and Lucas County Members,

March 30th, 2012 marks a very special day for all physicians across the country as we
celebrate the National Doctor’s Day. The Alliance will once again honor physicians by
extending an opportunity to our members to submit Doctors names that are special to
them.

The Barrow County Auxiliary in Georgia held the first Doctor’s Day observance on March
30, 1933 when the Auxiliary mailed cards to the local doctors and their spouses. The
tradition of honoring our physicians for serving and caring for the community continues.
Doctor’s Day 2012 is a special project of the American Medical Association Alliance, the
Ohio State Medical Association Alliance and its member county Alliances. It is a day to
honor our spouses and any physician who has touched and impacted our lives in a
positive way. It is also a day to communicate to the public the achievements made by
these physicians in medicine and in health care.

A special card will be mailed to each physician that you choose to honor. The card will
be received before March 30th and will acknowledge to him/her your gratitude and
appreciation for their dedication and service. Also, their names will appear in an issue of
the Capsule Comment and the Toledo Medicine.
